New Delhi: Popular Front of India National General Secretary Anis Ahmed has stated that The Supreme Court’s decision to transfer Covid related cases from High Courts to itself is unjustified on many grounds. He added that it is a matter of relief that the apex court has finally been convinced to withdraw from its move that would have made the high courts redundant. The SC intervention had drawn flaks from many corners especially the legal fraternity including senior lawyers and the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).

Popular Front of India Kerala state secretary, S Nisar, has stated that the reports circulating about NIA raids at the residences of Popular Front of India leaders in Kerala are baseless. NIA has not conducted raids at the residence of any member or leader of the organization anywhere in the state today. An NIA enquiry about a relative of a Popular Front member at Chelari, Malappuram, which has nothing to do with the organization, seems to have been falsely propagated. At the same time, there is strong suspicion whether the agencies have willfully given misleading information to the media.

Popular Front of India strongly condemns the arrest of Rashid Ahmed, a member of the organization, by Uttar Pradesh police The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). Rashid is a resident of Mumbai and went missing two days back while returning to Mumbai after vising his family in Uttar Pradesh. His family had filed a complaint in Allahabad Hight Court since there was no communication from his side for the last two days.
