The State Presidents and Secretaries meeting of Popular Front of India decided to hold a National Awareness Campaign under the caption “Babri Masjid Demands Justice” from December 6, 2010 to January 30, 2011.

The commencing and concluding dates of the campaign, December 6 and January 30 are the most unforgettable days in the history of post-independent India. It was on January 30, 1948 Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by agents of Hindutva Fascism. And on December 6, 1992 the country witnessed another attack on the secular fabric of the country when the same forces demolished the centuries old Babri Masjid. During this campaign period December 10 will be observed as “Anti-Terrorism Day” highlighting the theme “Fight Terrorism, Uphold Human Rights”. The meeting observed that this campaign is a timely task in the background of the unjust Babri verdict by the Allahabad High Court and the role of RSS in recent explosions as revealed by the investigating agencies. Various programmes like Public meetings, Seminars in major cities, poster campaign, and handbill distribution will be undertaken.

Special awareness programmes will be conducted on December 6, the anniversary day of Babri Masjid demolition and on January 30, the anniversary day of Gandhi assassination. This campaign from Masjid demolition day to Gandhi assassination day will also involve various secular sections and human rights groups in the country. This national and state leader’s meet of Popular Front also condemned the irresponsible and substandard allegation on Mrs. Sonia Gandhi levelled by the RSS Ex-Sarsanghchalak K.S. Sudharshan. This statement by a top RSS leader once again shows that they have no limits while targeting their opponents and exposes the hollowness of their claims of culture, nationalism and cultural nationalism. RSS which is exposed of its involvement in the terrorist attacks has chosen this ugly defamatory method to divert the public and media attention. The meeting hoped that the Congress party and Central Government would not bow to this tactics meant to blackmail and pressurise them.

Popular Front once again reiterated its demand of investigating RSS involvement in all the bomb blast cases since 1992. The meeting was presided over by Popular Front Chairman E. M. Abdul Rahiman and addressed by General Secretary K. M. Shareef.
