Kozhikkode: Supreme Court's judgment upholding the Kerala High court order to grant bail for Dr. Raneef in the teacher assault case has dealt a severe blow to the left government in Kerala, said P Abdul Hameed, general sevretary, Popular Front of India in a statement. By rejecting the appeal moved by Kerala government against the bail order, Supreme Court has brought out hollowness of police vilification campaign against popular Front and its activists.

Muvattupuzha Assault Case: First and Second Accused Granted Bail

Kochi: Kerala High court today granted bail for first and second accused in the Muvattupuzha assault case. It was Ernakulam Additional Sessions court that granted bail to Jafer and Kaladi Ashraf, first and second accused respectively, citing the inability of the prosecution to file charge sheet against accused. Jafer and Asharaf were put behind bars for last 6 months. The judge V Shersi ordered to release on conditional bail both the accused that completed 180 days in jail.

Kerala State PresidentKozhikode: Karamana Asharaf Moulavi and P Abdul Hameed Master elected as Kerala state president and General Secretary of Popular Front. They were elected in State General Assembly held at Puthanathani, Malappuram district. Asharaf Moulavi is from Poonthura, Trivandum. He was State vice president during last term who has Baqavi degree from Vellore Islamic institute.

Other functionaries are K.H Naser(Vice President), T.K Abdussamad(Secretary), C.A Haris (Treasurer) were also elected.

Popular Front denies having links with SIMI

New Delhi,: The Popular Front of India has denied any links with banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and said the organisation was working for downtrodden and indulging in several social works.
In a statement, the PFI said that reports that SIMI cadre were re-grouping under the banner of Popular Front were very unfortunate and baseless.

"In the past 20 years, we have been servicing by several social works. At present we are functioning in 10 states.... We don't have any connection with SIMI," it said.

Popular Front of India, Dakshin Kannada, district unit staged a protest against illegal detention and torture of its members by DCIB police, in front of D.C office, Mangalore, on Tuesday.

Speaking to gathering Anwar Sadath, district president of Popular Front of India, said DCIB police arrested the organization’s members, who were traveling to Mysore to attend a state convention, and registered a fake case of hatching murder conspiracy.
