A delegation led by the Chairman of Popular Front of India, E Abubacker visited the families of the victims of mob lynching in Jharkhand. The delegation included National Secretary Abdul Wahid, Zonal President Moulana Kaleemullah and other state leaders. The delegation first met the family of Sajjad who was lynched to death in Shobapur village about 20 kms from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. The accusation was that he was behind the kidnapping of children in the area. On being countered with no reports in any police station of kidnapping, cases quickly changed to cattle transport.
The National Leaders Meet convened by Popular Front of India today at Malabar House, Malappuram in Kerala called upon the people to resist growing incidents of mob lynching and other atrocities against weaker sections by making best use of all democratic and legal means. The Meet reminded Muslims and Dalits who are the prime victims of communal and casteist onslaughts and the secular civil society at large that building broad alliances at different levels by burying all petty prejudices among them is the timely responsibility bestowed upon them.
The Central Secretariat meeting of Popular Front of India, in a statement, warned the people at large about the divisive campaign of the Sangh Parivar under the influence of its anti-Muslim, anti-Dalit philosophy. Though RSS and BJP may need such a situation to achieve their ultimate political goals, the growing atmosphere of Hindutva violence targeting Muslims and Dalits who constitute a major segment of the population would make India an insecure country for all groups, castes and communities.

The National Secretariat meeting of Popular Front of India in a statement termed demonetization a proved hoax with disastrous impacts on the economy. Seven months after the decision there is no proof as to whether government has achieved any of the claimed objectives. It was claimed that demonetization would bring all the black money back, stop counterfeit currencies and end terrorist financing. However within months all the 90% of the cash in circulation found its way to the banks without any problem, while common people continued languishing in front of banks from morning to evening.

E Abubacker has said that the attack should serve as a wake-up call to all political parties in the opposition to ponder more effective steps to counter the fascist menace plaguing the nation.
A statement issued by the National Secretariat meeting of Popular Front of India has demanded complete and immediate withdrawal of the restrictions on cattle trade imposed by the central government. It is an outright anti-people and anti-democratic step which will unilaterally destroy the livelihood of millions of poor people but also further stunt national economy which is already affected by disastrous demonetization. The explanation that there is no ban on cattle trade is just a ploy of to appease people of some Northeastern and Southern states which are reluctant to execute beef ban.
“The ban on sale of cows for slaughter and the new restrictions imposed on cattle trade by the central government will trigger new waves of Hindutva violence against Muslims and Dalits across the country”, Abdul Wahid Sait, Secretary, Popular Front of India warned in a statement issued here today following the amendments to the existing rules governing Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The move is yet another attack by the Narendra Modi government on people’s freedom to eat what they like.
