Madurai: Why Popular Front ? Madurai regional conference held yesterday on November 4, 2012 at Madurai Munichalai Opuzhapadithurai . The Grand Conference entitled "Kurivaikkappadum Muslimkazh , Neethikkana Muzhakkam" (Muslim witchhunt - Proclamation for Justice ) started in the evening on 6:45 pm. Conference Ground Maruthanayagam ground, is named after Maruthannayagam alias Mohamed Yusuf Khan, a great warrior who fought gallantly against Imperial occupying forces.

The conference was presided by S.P.Nasrudeen, the conference coordinator and State executive council member.Popular front functionaries and Social democratic Party of India functionaries and cadres including prominent leaders like Arif Faisal,State secretary, Haji A.Haja Mohideen, Madurai Town Kazhi, Najmuddin, Madurai United Jamath president were present as the chief guests of the conference.

K.M.Sherif, National General Secretary of Popular Front of India, A.Halid State General Secretary, A.V.A.Ghassali, Vice President of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), KKSM.Dhehlan Baqavi, State President of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), A.Fathima Aalima, President of National Women's Front (NWF) were among others delivered their special keynote addresses.

Various resolutions were passed in the conference including, Withdraw anti people black laws like UAPA, Release the innocent undertrial prisoners on bail, illegally punished for more than 7 years, Implement pro-people Sethu canal project immediately and another resolution reiterated that Popular front of India's struggle for the empowerment of the weaker and downtrodden sections of the society will continue.
