In Tamil Nadu, we fought for the equal rights and security of the people under the banner of Manitha Neethi Pasarai. National Development Front in Kerala and Karnataka Forum for Dignity in Karnataka was also fighting the same cause. These three movements came together under the banner of Popular Front of India at the Empower India Conference held at Bangalore on February 17, 2007. The movement has now stretched its wings across the North, West, East and North East of the nation. We celebrate this day as this is a milestone in the people’s fight for justice.
The slogan ‘United for Democracy’ will be focussed in this year Popular Front Day. The theme behind this is to make the people aware of their responsibilities and to show the true face of the fascist forces that work against the principles of democracy.
This year flag hoisting, people welfare schemes, sports, medical camps, public meetings and rallies will be held all over the State to mark the Popular Front Day. It has been decided to conduct Unity March and public meeting at Chennai and Dindugal. We welcome the people to participate in large numbers in all the programs.
State General Secretary Mohamed Shaik Ansari, State Secretary Mohamed Raseen, North Chennai President Mohamed Rafeeq and South Chennai Secretary Abdul Azeez were also present at the Press Meet.
