National Health Campaign Inaugurated in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh; Popular Front of India

Hundreds of youth from Kurnool town participated in the "2K Marathon" from the Stadium to Umar Arabic College ground. The event was organized to mark the inauguration of "Healthy People, Healthy Nation" by Popular Front of India in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. This campaign will be observed all over the country from 15-Oct and will conclude on 31st October 2018.

Abdul Wahid Sait, National Secretary, flagged-off the marathon and Afsar Pasha (Deccan Zone President, Popular Front of India) inaugurated an exhibition to create awareness about the benefits of good health and to warn about the dangers of drug abuse. Popular Front has been organizing this campaign for the last 10 years to promote health consciousness and hygiene among the masses. The campaign will have various programmes all over the country.

M Mohammed Ali Jinnah, National General Secretary, delivered the inaugural speech. He said that developed countries have huge budget allocations for citizen's health which catalyses the development of nations. He termed it a duty of every citizen to think about own health and make India a strong and developed country.

Kurnool Constituency MLA SV Mohan Reddy applauded the activities of Popular Front of India, working for upliftment of poor and marginalized sections through Education campaign, Health Campaign and many awareness programmes.

Participants were enthralled to watch the demos presented by different teams, such as Stay fit Demo, Martial Arts, Kungfu, Yoga, Body Builders show, Karate by girls. Also Prizes, Medals, certificates and trophies were give to winners of various sport events conducted last week as part of the campaign.

Mufti Shiak Abdus Subhan (State President, Andhra Pradesh), Dr. P Chandra Shekhar (Superintendent, Govt. General Hospital, Kurnool) also addressed the gathering and gave health tips. Mohammed Yusuf Bhaqavi (State President All india imams Council, Andhra Pradesh), Abdul Waris (State President, SDPI Andhra Pradesh), Mrs. Tahir Unissa (State President, National Womens Front, AP), Mohammed Arif Ahmed (Deccan Zone Secretary), M Abdul Ahad (Telangana State President), Mohammed Irfan (A.P State Secretary), M Abdullah Khan (Kurnool Dist. President), Jahangir Basha (Kurnool Dist. President) were present on the dias and Abdul Latif Qaudri (Secretary, Andhra Pradesh) gave the vote of thanks.
