The National Executive Council meeting of Popular Front of India has condemned the Delhi Lieutenant Governor order to impose National Security Act (NSA) in Delhi for three months starting from 19 January.
Popular Front of India has filed a Public Interest Litigation(PIL)in Allahabad High Court seeking court monitored judicial probe by a retired Supreme Court or High Court judge on the police violence in connection with the Anti–CAA protest in the state. The petition was filed by Md Shahzad, UP State Adhoc committee member on the behalf of the organisation.
Popular Front of India National General Secretary M Mohamed Ali Jinnah has welcomed Chhattisgarh Government’s decision to challenge the constitutionality of the draconian NIA Act in the Supreme Court and urged other non-BJP State Governments also to approach apex court to strike down the act which is against the spirit of federalism.
“The BJP government is trying to divert the public attention from the ongoing nationwide protests CAA-NRC-NPR by scattering blatant lies against Popular Front of India through the certain media under their control. In this new round of vilification campaign against the organisation the puppet media carries the ulterior motive of serving the agenda of a failed government. Some print, electronic and visual media including Republic TV are leveling baseless allegations against Popular Front. We are resorting to the legal measures as before against them”, said M.
Popular Front of India National Secretariat reiterated its support to nationwide democratic agitations that have been taking place peacefully against anti-constitutional and discriminatory CAA-NRC-NPR. The meeting of the secretariat reaffirmed its resolve to stand with fellow citizens for the cause of protecting citizenship rights as envisaged in Indian constitution and to defeat the attempts to intimidate the organisation through allegations new and old.
Since the passage of Citizenship Amendment Bill by both houses of the parliament massive agitations and rallies have been happening in almost all cities and villages of the country. This was very spontaneous outburst of popular anger against the legislation that goes against the values the country has been built upon.
