The people of Andhra Pradesh display their solidarity with Popular Front

Kurnool: The Grand Conference of Popular Front of India as part of the national campaign “We also have something to say” witnessed an ocean of people in the city of Kurnool, AP. As per the people of the city this is the first time the city of Kurnool witnessed such a huge gathering. The huge participation of Women in the conference was also a highlight.

The conference was held on 22nd October at Arabic College Ground, Beside Usmania College Kurnool. The programme started with the welcome speech by AP state general secretary Abdul Latheef. He introduced the organization and welcomed all people and guests. The inaugural speech was delivered by Anis Ahmed, Secretary, Popular Front of India. He thanked the people of AP for their support towards the organization ignoring the smear campaign conducted against the organization. He stated “Our organization is 10 years old in AP and since our inception we are facing a lot of opposition by the administration who tried all means to stop our growth. I congratulate the members and leaders of the organization for standing firm and coming out successful.” Regarding the campaign he explained “recently the NIA acting as a puppet of the government is trying to defame the organization with the help of few communally influenced media houses. All the allegations against the organization are fake and a result of prejudice.” He insisted that the hypocrisy of the NIA and other agencies can been seen when they ignore the crimes of political killings and anti-national activities carried out by political parties like BJP. He reaffirmed the stand of the organization that Popular Front has full faith in the democratic values, constitution and judiciary.

Ex-Judge of Mumbai High Court Justice B.G. Kolse Patil in his guest speech expressed his happiness with the mass participation. He said “Our number one enemy is our disunity that is created by the forces of Brahmanism. Once the Minorities, Dalits and Adivasis are united no force can stop us.” He urged the people to start living for others and come forward for the protection of the rights of other communities. He exposed the evil plans of the BJP led central government and advised the gathering to have a collective strategy to defeat the fascist forces in 2019. Elyas Mohammed Thumbe, General Secretary of SDPI highlighted the failures of the central government. He said “The central government won the 2014 elections with the help of lies and fake promises. Not a single promise was fulfilled and on the contrary the lives of common people has become difficult. The anti-people policies like demonetization and GST has completely damaged the economic situation of the country especially affecting the poor and smaller businesses. To divert the attention of the people form these grave issues the government is trying to create new issues such as ban on Popular Front, Ram Mandir and Taj Mahal”.

The programme concluded with the presidential address by Mufti Abdussuban Qasmi, President, Popular Front, A.P. The vote of thanks was presented by Mohammed Abdullah Khan.
