Legal Aid for Shimoga Riot victims

Bangalore: Popular front of India provided legal assistance to the victims of communal violence which had happened at Shimoga, Karnataka, on February 19, 2015. Nearly 130 innocents falsely implicated into various cases were released due to the collective efforts of Popular Front of India.The program was organised in shimoga to assist the accused and help them legally.
Speaking on the program, Shakif, State President, Popular Front of India, reiterated that, "Popular Front will stand with them till they all are acquitted InShaaAllah"

Earlier on April 9, 2015, president distributed relief fund around Rs 4.5 Laks to the victims of shimoga riots.In which he had spoken that, "“Hindus and Muslims are not enemies. They have to live together as one. No one should take the law and order in hand. Hindus and Muslims should fight together against fascist in democratic way”.

Shimoga Communal Violence which broke out when Popular Front of India cadres were observing their Foundation Day. Though the Foundation day falls on February 17, It was commemorated two days later on February 19 , as per the request from police officials that, Shivaratri was also celebrated by our Hindu brethren on the same day. So it was rescheduled generously on February 19,2015.
But unfortunately the peaceful march was disrupted by the Fascist forces in an effort to sabotage the peaceful Unity March and an attempt to provoke muslims to indulge in violence.

While Rally was going peacefully 100 metres before the conclusion, Fascist anti social elements disrupted the rally by pelting stones on the rally. Torching Vehicles and Shops arson and rioting followed . Police did their best to bring the situation under control.

Later on, when the participants of Unity March were returning back to their homes, they were targeted again, their vehicles including 8 buses,3 tempos, and 24 cars were damaged.
