New Delhi : Condemning the ban on the Jharkhand unit of Popular Front of India (PFI) by Jharkhand government, leaders of important Muslim organisations and leading figures of the Indian Muslim community considered the ban tantamount to murdering democracy. The Muslim community leaders said in a joint statement that PFI is a nationwide welfare and social organisation offering educational and social services all over the country and helping victims within the limits of the Indian Constitution and laws.
The Central Secretariat meeting of Popular Front of India held at Calicut applauded the Lok Sabha by-election results in UP and Bihar. The meeting observed that the willingness expressed by the regional parties SP and BSP to stand together is exemplary at a time when the Congress and Left parties hesitates to act jointly. This unity has proved that BJP is not invincible if secular parties are ready to unite. The defeat of BJP in its long held bastions like Gorakhpur reflects how much people are disillusioned with the policies of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi.
A resolution passed by the National Executive Council meeting of Popular Front of India welcomed the growing public opinion against the anti-democratic ban on the organization in BJP ruled Jharkhand. The meeting expressed gratitude to all organisations and leaders who have openly spoken out against the ban.
More than a fortnight after ban on Popular Front of India in Jharkhand, different organizations, activists and intellectuals in several parts of India are raising their opposition against it. In North-East states like Manipur, Assam and also in southern state of Andhra Pradesh several protest meetings were held against the ban.
Popular Front Chairman E Abubacker in a statement took strong exception to the FIR lodged by The Hazratganj police against All India Muslim Personal Law Board spokesperson Maulana Sajjad Nomani alleging sedition. He rubbished the accusations made by UP Shia Waqf Board Chairman, Waseem Rizvi against Maulana.
Lucknow: A joint statement issued by Political and organisational leaders in Uttar Pradesh has stated that the ban imposed by Jharkhand government on Popular Front of India in the state is anti-democratic and demanded that it be revoked immediately.

New Delhi: After Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, another prominent Muslim group Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has slammed the Jharkhand’s BJP government for prescribing social organization ‘Popular Front of India’ (PFI). Jamiat said the decision of banning the outfit smacks ‘partisan attitude of the government while Hindutva outfits have been inciting violence and hatred against minorities in the state. It also said Jharkhand witness dozens of mob-lynching incidents but the state government failed to bring the culprits to book.
