In response to the situations prevailing in Assam after the publication of the Final List of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state, Popular Front of India has finalised follow up actions in the meeting of the State Committee held in presence of its national leaders. Popular Front units and its cadres in association with other individuals and groups will form Para-legal Volunteer Teams across the state to help the victims in filing appeals before Foreigners Tribunals (FTs).
In the wake of voices being echoed in the country about an imminent implementation of National Register of Citizens (NRC), Popular Front of India has called upon all sections of people to Oppose NRC outside Assam. The National Executive Council meeting of the organisation held at Calicut in Kerala for three days to deliberate on current national situation was concluded by adopting few more resolutions. The meeting expressed deep concern over the growing intimidation attempts and assaults on litigants and lawyers appearing for Babri Masjid in the Supreme Court.
As a step towards uniting people in endeavors for protecting their fundamental rights and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere free from fear and hatred, Popular Front of India convened “Community Leaders Convention” on 7 September 2019 at N.D. Tewari Bhawan in New Delhi. The programme was attended by more than 200 delegates drawn from Delhi and adjacent states representing different local organizations and institutions.
Popular Front of India General Secretary M Mohammed Ali Jinnah has expressed disappointment over the reports that culprits were acquitted in 40 of total 41 cases of Muzaffarnagar riots in which verdicts have been delivered by the courts. Only one case in which there was conviction, the accused were Muslims. He sought re-investigation of all Muzaffarnagar cases under direct supervision of Hon'ble Supreme Court.
Popular Front of India is organizing a “Community Leaders Convention” in defence of civil rights and constitutional values in New Delhi (N.D.Tiwari Bhawan) on Saturday 7th September 2019 at 10 am onwards. This convention will be attended by delegates from Delhi and adjacent states representing organizations and institutions working at grassroots.
Popular Front Chairman E. Abubacker will preside over the function. Those who will address the convention include members of parliament, political party leaders, community leaders and civil rights activists.
Popular Front of India is organising a grand public conference named "People's Rights Conference" in New Delhi on Sunday 29 September 2019. The full day conference will be held at Indira Gandhi Stadium from 10 am onwards.
The conference declaration was made by general secretary M Mohammed Ali Jinnah. He also released the Conference poster in the zonal committee meeting held at headquarters in New Delhi. NEC member E M Abdul Rahiman, Zonal president A S Ismail, Zonal secretary Anis Ansari Mohammed Shafiullh and other zone and state leaders were present on the occasion.
Popular Front of India Central Secretariat in a statement issued after the release of the Assam NRC final list has said that the exclusion of nearly two million people was tragic and that procedural lapses and prejudices have left genuine Indian citizens out of the list. The statement questioned the official claim that the process was carried out objectively and transparently.
Popular Front of India Chairman E Abubacker has stated that the 'Status of Policing in India Report' published by CSDS is proof of the dangerous depth of RSS ideology of Muslim hate among police personnel.
In the light of the new findings, he underlined the need of our police force to be made more inclusive and unbiased.
