The National General Assembly (NGA) of Popular Front of India held at Malabar House in Mallapuram, Kerala during 10-12 August 2018 concluded with a call to all secular, democratic forces and depressed class movements for building a joint political resistance in every state and constituency to Keep RSS away from power after 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Other resolutions highlighting various national issues of current importance were also passed in the concluding session of the Assembly.

The demise of former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, DMK patriarch and Tamil scholar Karunanidhi has deeply saddened us. He was in public life for more than eighty years and his impact on the Tamil Nadu and national politics for more than half a century was highly valuable. He was the torch bearer of social justice. The multi talented life of Mr. Karunanidhi was an apt illustration of commitment and hard work. The younger generation has a lot to learn from his life. His demise is a great loss for the people of Tamil Nadu and India.

Assam NRC: Popular Front cautions to avert humanitarian tragedy

Responding to the 2nd final draft of the National Register for Citizens (NRC) released today Popular Front of India chairman E Abubacker, in a statement, cautioned about a very big humanitarian tragedy that has emerged in Assam. He has called for urgent interventions of the government, judiciary, national political parties and human rights agencies to prevent a large population of Bengali speaking Indian citizens in Assam becoming refugees in own homeland.

Popular Front of India has announced its Scholarship programme-2018 in New Delhi today. This scheme supports poor and meritorious students who wish to pursue higher studies after completing the Higher Secondary (12th). Applications are invited from students who are pursuing their course in the academic year 2018-19. Popular Front is implementing this national scholarship scheme for higher education for the 8th consecutive year.

Popular Front of India chairman E. Abubacker yesterday visited family members of Rakbar Khan at Koalgaon in Haryana about 150 kms from New Delhi who was lynched by cow terrorists. He was lynched to death in Alvar 4 days ago on 21st July. This town has gained notoriety because of 4 incidents of lynching in the last 11 months.

One-time Election to Parliament and State Assemblies will lead to more centralisation of powers

National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of Popular Front of India has expressed its disagreement about the proposal to have simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies. A resolution adopted by the meeting stated that the new system which is against the spirit of federalism would ultimately lead the nation to Presidential System with more centralisation of powers. The arguments such as it will save public money, make electoral system more stable etc. are only meant to conceal this imminent danger from public attention.
