New Delhi: Human rights activists, lawyers, community leaders and the representatives of civil society meeting under the banner of “People’s Movement Against UAPA” decided to launch various programmes for the repeal of the draconian law.
A team would meet the leaders of all political parties in Bihar, prior to the upcoming election, and would impress upon them the need for the repeal of UAPA, which has already put thousands of people in jails on baseless charges.
It is heart breaking to note that deaths in police custody and prisons are on the increase in different parts of India. The recent fake Encounter of five Persons in Aler, Telangana State and Shaik Hyder in the custody of Nizamabad,Telangana and 20 persons killing in A.P police are indications of this condemnable trend.
In the scorching month of May 2014, the Muslims of India slipped into a dark mood of pessimism at the prospect of living under a BJP government swept into office with a decisive majority.
Over the course of the year, that somber mood has since been dispelled. This is not because the NDA-II has proved to be a different kettle of fish, but because Muslims have adjusted to what can be called the New Normal. This is the condition in which it is considered normal to have anxieties and fears triggered by political developments and pessimism to a degree is deemed realistic.
Former Supreme Court Judge Mr. Markendey Katju said “RSS is the enemy of the country”. The member of RSS is the enemy of Christian and Muslim.
Justice Katju said that I talk lot of RSS members about its ideology and found that they were all against the Christian and Muslim. He further stating that whenever I get chance to talk to them, I found that they believed that Muslim and Christian were “Shaitan”.
He said that BJP (Rashtriya S Sevek Sangh's political wing), is working under extreme pressure of RSS. Most of its prominent leaders were members of RSS for decades.
