Coorg: It’s the very first time in Madikeri that the Social Democratic Party of India-SDPI contested in 8 wards, won 4 of them and would play a decisive role in the Municipality administration.

The Congress which succeeded in securing 10 seats requires 4 seats to form the council and after the MLA, & MLCs each vote the total would be 12 and still it would require 2 more seats for the purpose.

Kundapur: Women’s Awareness Program held at Sri Sharada PU College

Udupi: Campus Front of India, Kundapur division, conducted a women awareness program at Sri Sharada College, Kundapur. Chief guest Sujatha, the Police Sub Inspector at Kundapura women Police Station, explained the students about facing different situations in society.
Campus Front of India, Karnataka president Iqbal prefaced the program which was presided by the college principal Chandra Prabha R Hegde. A documentary on women atrocity was screened in the program. Chandravathi, Ashik Mulur were present at the program.

Mangalore: Nirbhaya Women’s awareness campaign held at St.Mary’s High School

Mangalore: Campus Front of India, Mangalore division committee organized a program at St.Mary’s High School Auditorium as part of Nirbhaya Women’s Awareness Campaign.
Teacher Seestarinaugurated the program.
Campus Front of India Karnataka state president Raheem delivered speech. A video on women harassment was screened in the program.
District president Sanaullah welcomed and coordinated the program.

‘1.2 crore female fetuses killed in last three dicades’

Hassan: ‘Around 1.2 crore female feticides were reported in India in the span of last three decades’ said Campus Front of India Hassan district committee member Mohammed Irshad who was speaking at an indoor program held at Chippinkatte PU College, Hassan as part of the organization’s state level womens’ awareness program with the theme ‘Nirbhaya’.

He said presently women are facing problems like dowry, feticides, sexual harassments, rape and insecurity.
